Double Saddle Blanket -Navajo Weaving : Historic : GHT 2257

This is a fabulous example of a Double Saddle blanket.  Woven with all naturally colored Merino wool, the weaver incorporated many lazy lines in this piece.  The weaver has created a beautiful optical landscape design.

These lines also serve a very useful purpose in saddle blankets as the act as "hinges" and allow the blanket to conform better to the back of the horse and provide more comfort.

Hand Carded, hand spun Merino wool.
