Burntwater Navajo Weaving : Elverna Van Winkle : 3353
Elverna Van Winkle is the sister to Elvie Van Winkle. And like her sister she has woven a Burntwater Navajo textile. Hand dyed with natural dyes, this small weaving is wonderful.
Like Elvie, Elverna learned this regional stye from Lillian Joe, her mom. Steve worked with Lillian in the early 1990s and her Grandmother Nellie Joe before that. Lillian is still well known for her weaving with fine wool, and usually produces small weavings.
This is everything that a Burntwater should be, colorful and intricate !
