Pictorial - Navajo Weaving : Leroy Yazzie : 1897
As they say, this isn't your daddy's Oldsmobile! This is a fantastic Pictorial weaving by Leroy Yazzie. He has combined many elements of Navajo weaving to create this one of a kind piece.
We see the stripes in the background which can be seen in Moki and Chief Blanket style weavings. At the top and bottom we see crosses attributed to Spider Woman. Look at the beautiful images of the horses and the buffalo. This is a remarkable piece. Leroy has combined all of the elements to present a very complimentary weaving.
