Raised Outline : Rachel Lynn Watson : 3280
In the 1950-60s, weavers in the Coal Mine Mesa area developed a style called Raised Outline in which they outline the designs in alternating colors which creates a raised or dimensional effect. The technique only affects one side of the weaving, so in effect you have two designs in one rug.
Rachel Lynn Watson is the gifted weaver who brought this piece to life. Creating Raised Outline designs is very difficult and a beautiful one as this can only be done by one blessed by Spiderwoman.
