HOLD Yei Be Chei Navajo Weaving : Louise Yazzie : 2087

In 2013 the Gallup Ceremonial judges gave this piece 1st Place for Yei Be Chei Weavings! The clarity and detail in the weaving is remarkable. This piece was featured on page 33 of our Woven Holy People exhibit catalog, you can see it here

This weaving talked to Louise for 6 months on the loom. Louise is the daughter of famous Master Weaver Suzie Bia and her aunt was Master Weaver Della Woody.  You may recognize Louise's name as she specializes in miniature pieces.

It has been 20 years since Steve has seen a Yei Be Che like this.  It is  a spectacular example of Weaving. This piece is filled with symbolism, and Steve would be happy to share it with you.

Did you know that Navajo weavings are reversible? The image is woven "through" the piece so that it is visible on both sides.
