Raised Outline - Newlands Style Navajo Weaving : Evelyn Yazzie : 3098
We have a beautiful example of a Newlands Raised Outline Navajo weaving for your consideration. Newlands refers to the area around Sanders Arizona, a part of the settlement in the Navajo-Hopi land dispute. The Navajo style combines three different pattern styles - the Teec Nos Pos pattern, the gentle natural pastel colors of the Burntwater, and the distinctive and dimensional pattern of the Raised Outline.
This piece beautifully demonstrates all three design styles, and was woven by Evelyn Yazzie, using cream, brown, rose/salmon, and turquoise.
