3rd Phase Chief Blanket : Pricilla Warren : 3187

The colors in this Navajo rug include dark bands - natural brown, crimson, green, black and gold bring to mind evening campfires enveloping you in their warmth.

3rd Phase Chief weavings are so beautiful as a wall hanging that it's hard to remember their beauty as a wearing blanket. When worn the sides will come together to form full designs at the front and fold down so the top designs are also completed.

When it comes to Chief or Women's Wearing Blankets there are three recognized phases:

First Phase has only horizontal lines,

Second Phase has 12 rectangles with horizontal lines, and

Third Phase have diamonds, triangles and horizontal lines.
