3rd Phase Navajo Weaving : Kathy Marianito : Churro 1506
Kathy' Marianito's hands have been hard at work, weaving dreams into her loom and bringing them to life. She created this gorgeous 3rd Phase Chief Blanket based on a memory of a blanket she remembers her Great-Great Grandfather Manuelito owning.
We're grateful she gave this piece a second life. It is very handsome. Beautiful browns, indigo, cochineal red, and white. Kathy and her forefathers have been richly blessed by Spiderwoman. This piece measures 4' 7" x 5' 7" and is looking for a forever home. Please click on the photos to inspect this gorgeous piece in detail.
Listen as Kathy describes the imagery in this piece:
It's been said by Navajo weavers, "If you like a piece it's not because you like it, it's because IT has chosen you."
