Antique Chinle Navajo Weaving : GHT 2305
This Navajo serape is hand spun and hand dyed, possibly with natural dyes found in plants and minerals found in the area.
The revival of the vegetal dyed blanket began in the 1920s in Chinle with
Cosy Mc Sparron a trader in the Chinle area. He encouraged the Navajo weavers to experiment with vegetal dyes.
