Teec Nos Pos : Lena Nez : Churro 892
One of the most complex and complicated designs in Navajo weaving. This style was influenced by the oriental rugs in the East, yet retain their native American symbolic style.
The Nez Family must have known Spiderwoman personally. Each of their weavings is beyond excellent. Finely and tightly woven, each piece is exquisite.
This handsome rug was woven as part of our exclusive Churro collection and spent 14 months on the loom!. It would make an excellent floor rug and would last for generations! Warm colors and a rich design combine the details of the Teec Nos Pos style with the classic style of the Old Style Hubbell Commissioned weavings.
The judges at the 2008 Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial appreciated the skill and expertise with which this piece was brought to life. It earned BEST OF CATEGORY for all Teec Nos Pos, and BEST OF SHOW for ALL Navajo weavings presented that year.
