SOLD Crystal Navajo Weaving : Jasper Peshlakai : 3285
In the mid 1940s the borderless, vegetal designs became established as the Crystal style. This area's style of weaving of today is sometimes confused with the Wide Ruins and Chinle area banded design rugs.
One area of distinction is the more extensive use of the natural wool colors with the vegetal tones. The combination is very pleasing to the eye as well as being compatible with most contemporary decor.
This gorgeous rug is attributed to one of the uncommon male weavers, Jasper Peshlakai, and features all natural dyes, hand-carded, hand-spun native wool. The colors in this piece are outstanding.
It's been said by Navajo weavers, "If you like a piece it's not because you like it, it's because IT has chosen you."
Close your eyes. Can you see this piece on a wall in your home or office? If so, you may have been chosen to be this weaving's forever home. Let us help this vision become a reality.
