Grace Nez - Master Weaver and the mother to some of the most beautiful ladies and Master Weavers we know. Each whom have become Master Weavers in their own right. Our Woven Holy People exhibit was blessed to include weavings from her daughters:
• Helene Nez has 3 weavings in the exhibit
• Cindy has a Masterful Yei with silk highlights,
• Marion has a masterful Teec Nos Pos weaving with a Sandpainting center.
One of the most talented Navajo weaving families, if not THE most talented weaving family working today!
Grace was an accomplished weaver :
• Winning Best of Show at Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial in 2005 and Best of Show at Museum of Northern Arizona;
• Featured in numerous museum exhibits at Desert Caballeros Western Museum Wickenburg. Arizona.
Shown here is our last remaining piece woven by Grace and the 2nd to the last weaving she ever made. It's a spectacular Crystal / Two Grew Hills piece. It is nicely woven and has great colors. It is a rare opportunity to own one of her weavings. She was the best! This piece measures 36" x 48" and would compliment nearly any decor. Click on the photos to see detailed images of this work.
