Feather Dance Pictorial Navajo Weaving : Arnold Begay : 3357

Arnold Begay, son of a medicine man is known for weaving cultural imagery.

In this unique weaving Arnold has portrayed the Navajo Feather Dance which takes place during the Mountain Chant ritual.  During the feather dance the drummer beats on an overturned ceremonial basket.  The maiden dances to the 4 directions and the eagle feathers magically rise up on the shaft end and dance to the same same sacred directions.

Arnold has a gift of imagery and has once again created a very special weaving!!
