Red Mesa / Teec Nos Pos Navajo Weaving : Historic : GHT 2026

In the simplest terms, Red Mesa Style rugs can be identified by columns of belted diamonds. The Red Mesa Trading Post was only 15 miles from the Teec Nos Pos Trading post, and over time the the style was influenced by the very intricate stylings of the Teec Nos Pos style.

Shown here we have a Red Mesa style from the 1930s where you can see the beginnings of influence by it's neighbor. The Fall colors in this piece are so rich and deep, you can almost hear the leaves dropping from the trees. It is very tightly woven as you can see in the photos.
