HOLD Pictorial Navajo Weaving : Historic : GHT 2089

The first thing you notice about this piece is the soft beauty in the colors - pink/red and a very nice light blue gray.  The colors are framed nicely on a field of cream/white on a naturally variegated gray background.

Noteworthy are the skillfully crafted flying eagles within the black hook trellis in the center of the weaving.  Woven in the Chinle, Nazilini area based on the vegetal dyes utilized in the textile.

This is an exceptional piece in regards to the colors, the wool, and the condition.
