Transitional Eyedazzler Navajo Weaving : Historic : GHT 2099

There was so much happening during the time this piece was woven.  It was a transitional period for the weavers - they were moving from creating strictly wearables, to pieces that could be used as rugs or wall hangings. New designs and patterns were being executed.

THIS is a piece right in the middle of the chaos, and look at what a wonderful diamond was uncovered!  This is an incredible piece of art.  Opposing corners have either a split square design, or ragged row.  Both were woven in glorious colors which are reminiscent of an incredible sunset seen so often in the southwest. It features hand-carded, hand-spun, and hand-dyed Merino wool.  It is a very heavy blanket/rug.  You will fall in love with it!

Only a weaver gifted by Spiderwoman could bring such a piece as this to life. It is over 100 years old and is in unbelievable condition. Is there a place in your home or office which demands to be seen?  If so, this is the piece to meet those demands!
