Two Grey Hills - Toadlena : Bessie Manygoats : GHT 2109
Whenever you look for the early Master Weavers, you will come across two names: Bessie Manygoats (1900-1964) and Daisy Taugelchee (1909-1990).
These legendary weavers were responsible for the beauty found in Toadlena / Two Grey Hills weavings. JB Moore felt it important to give credit to weavers of a particular piece. It gave overdue credit and permitted buyers to recognize outstanding weavers by name. Additionally, Master Weavers were able to increase the prices they commanded for their work.
We feel honored to have pieces by both of these incredible weavers for you. Shown here is an amazing piece by Bessie Manygoats. There is so much beauty in this piece - from the gorgeous flowers in the corners, to the wonderful Spiderwoman crosses, to the pixilated bow frames, to the simple and elegant floral cross border. Woven with all natural wool colors. This is an opportunity to own one of the few remaining pieces by an early Master Weaver.
This weaving is in the Timeless Treasures of Two Grey Hills catalog and exhibit.
