Pine Springs Navajo Weaving : Melvina Francis : 3263

The Pine Springs style of Navajo weaving is one of the three "banded" styles - Chinle, Pine Springs, and Wide Ruins.  The Pine Springs style tends to be more finely woven than the others.  All banded styles use natural, vegetal dyes to color the wool. The colors come from plants, stones, and insects to create a diverse and beautiful palette.

The artist of this weaving brought together a great mix of paste colors reminiscent of the Southwest landscape.  This piece would work well in so many decors and is looking for a forever home with you.
