Single Saddle Blanket - Navajo Weaving : Historic : PC 125

This piece was woven from hand spun, hand carded, natural Churro wool, and if you look closely you can see all of the "lazy" or section lines which were placed so that the blanket would conform nicely over the horse's back.  The lines are very graphic and were purposeful, great are Navajo style.

This beautiful piece was featured in the Navajo Textiles as Modern Art exhibit held at Nizhoni Ranch Gallery March 11 - June 30 2017.  Made for Navajo saddle proportions, this weaving can also be found in the Navajo Textiles As Modern Art catalog on page 33.
