Navajo Sandpainting Weaving : Arnold Begay : 3293

Night Skies Navajo Sandpainting weaving from the Shooting Way Chant Way

This is a great adaptation of a classic and important Sandpainting weaving by Hasteen Klah.  Hasteen Klah, a powerful medicine man was the first to apply sandpaintings to the loom to preserve this important part of Navajo culture.

Navajo weaver Arnold Begay, from the Newcomb area chose to simplify his Navajo Sandpainting weaving, but he included some great pictorial elements.
