Spider Rock Pictorial : Navajo Rug : Marion Nez : Looming Attractions

On the loom of Marion Nez is a pictorial of Spider Rock.  A few years back Marian's sister Helene started a similar weaving but was unable to finish it.  Marian stepped in and completed it.  It won many awards at the Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial.  

We expect this one will be a show stopper too.  Hopefully it will be done July 2023 so that it can be entered into 2023 ceremonial.

Marion comes from the highly prolific Nez family.  The Nez's have woven some of the most spectacular pieces of art - and some of the largest weavings as well.  While the majority of their style is Teec Nos Pos,  their vision and talent knows no boundaries.  Another Nez masterpiece is on the way!

Navajo Rug : Elsie Bia : on the loom

Elsie Bia is warping the loom for her next Masterpiece!!! We can't wait to sell what will be on the loom of this master weaver. What we do know is it will be from 100% hand dyed Churro wool.

Elsie told Steve that this one will be 4' x 6' when finished.

Eye Dazzler Navajo Rug: Cindy Nez : Looming

Navajo Master Weaver Cindy Nez has what I think to be a Eye Dazzler weaving on her loom.   She is an incredible weaver and has won Many Many awards at Gallup Inter Tribal Ceremonial.

Teec Nos Pos Navajo Rug : Malinda Nez : on the loom

Malinda Nez has a small Teec on her loom.  She predicts it will be 2' x 3'.  She has sheared, cleaned, carded, spun and dyed all the wool herself from a herd of Churro sheep Gail and Steve provided to the Nez family some years ago.  Malinda is also the Shepherd.

Navajo 3rd Phase Chief Blanket: On the Loom : Jalucie Marianito

2nd Phase Navajo Chief Blanket  on the loom. 

Woven with custom spun, hand dyed Churro wool.  The wool was dyed with vegetal dyes, indigo and cochineal just like the antique Chief blankets.
