Teec Nos Pos Single Navajo Saddle Blanket. Currently on loan to the Booth Museum in Cartersville GA. Woven for a Navajo saddle to be used as a saddle throw, adorning the top of the saddle for extra padding and show. The designs in this piece tell us it's from the Teec Nos Pos area of the reservation.
This fancy single saddle was woven using native wool and was might have been created for a saddle throw that was used over the saddle, not under it. It has an extremely unusual rounded woven back and S curves, both uncommon and hard to weave.
