The Creation story of the Navajo Emergence as “The People or Dine” is as sacred as the Bible to the Navajo.  One theme reoccurs often and in almost all writings, that is central to the Navajo, attainment and maintenance of harmony and beauty, called Hozho.  To create Hozho ceremonies are preformed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Yei Be Chei dancers are the human impersonators of holy people which perform the ceremonies. The Yei Be Chei weavings present the dancers as they dance, perform, and enact the ceremony of the Yeis. The Yeis perform specific dances and rituals, as directed by the Medicine Man, during the ceremony for the desired end.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYei be Chei weavings are highly individual, therefore, different elements may be found in them. Male Yeis have round heads and Female Yeis have square heads. Anita was a well known and respected weaver throughout the world. Her rug work had been featured in the Cortez Journal, the Arizona Highway Magazine and Native People’s Magazine, as well as various other publications.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAnita won numerous awards for her beautiful work, including 2 Best of Show Awards at the Annual Santa Fe Indian Market for her Sandpainting Weavings, \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ean impressive feat considering the fact she is believed to be only the second weaver to receive the award in Indian market’s 83-year history.\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Anita became interested in weaving when she was a young child, after hearing the stories her mother told about her grandmother. She was the third generation of women in her family to take up the craft. She specialized in Navajo Sandpainting Weavings. Those familiar with her work know she was very dedicated to it. Anita was a well known and respected weaver throughout the world. Her rug work had been featured in the Cortez Journal, the Arizona Highway Magazine and Native People’s Magazine, as well as various other publications.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAnita won numerous awards for her beautiful work, including 2 Best of Show Awards at the Annual Santa Fe Indian Market for her Sandpainting Weavings, \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ean impressive feat considering the fact she is believed to be only the second weaver to receive the award in Indian market’s 83-year history.\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Anita became interested in weaving when she was a young child, after hearing the stories her mother told about her grandmother. She was the third generation of women in her family to take up the craft. She specialized in Navajo Sandpainting Weavings. Those familiar with her work know she was very dedicated to it.
