About this weaving
This Rio Grande style Navajo blanket showcases hand-spun wool with variegated dyes that blend Navajo and Hispanic weaving traditions. The weaver intentionally mimicked Rio Grande techniques to create visual depth, likely for a Hispanic household. A historic piece that celebrates artistic innovation and cultural exchange.
This weaving was part of an Exhibition showing at the Tucson Desert Art Museum January 4 2017 to April 30 2017 – Please look at the Dazzled Eye catalog on page 5 to find this weaving.
