Crystal Navajo rug. This lovely weaving is from the 1920 and has a unique Arts & Crafts style. The change up of the red coloring is original to the piece and woven this way intentionally. We can only guess at the reasons. It may have been an intentional change so as the weaving would not be perfect.

Pictorial Navajo weavings often depict scenes from everyday life, or times past. In this scene we see mountains at the top. Horses and sheep have been vital to the survival of the Navajo. The wagons tell us this is a scene from around the 1800s.
