This Late Classic Navajo Dress Panel is about 150 years old. It is a wonderful glimpse into Native American history.
The dark red is cochineal dyed bayetta and the lighter red is American flannel. The deep blue is indigo.
The black/brown center is naturally dark wool with sumac to make it a deep color.
Extremely rare, single saddle blanket. Only one of 3 known. Merino wool, the blue is likely indigo.
Bold wedge weave design woven in the 1890s, it would look great displayed for a pop of modern art.
